Description
Day 1: Arrive in Ulaanbaatar and explore the city. Have dinner at a restaurant offering Mongolian national cuisine. Rest at the hotel.
Day 2: Travel from Ulaanbaatar to Ulgii in Western Mongolia. Choose accommodation in a hotel or a Kazakh home. Familiarize yourself with the cradle city and enjoy the panoramic view from a high hill.
Day 3: Attend the official opening ceremony of Mongolia's National Festival. Watch the holiday opening, parade, and Mongolian national wrestling. Stay in a hotel or Kazakh home.
Day 4: Continue celebrating the Mongolian national holiday. Head to the horse racetrack and witness the exciting horse race. Travel by jeep to a location 10 km from Ulgii center. Arrive in Ulgii at 15:00 and continue watching the national wrestling match. Also, attend the festival's closing ceremony. Stay in a hotel or Kazakh home.
Day 5: Drive 3 hours by jeep from Ulgii to the base of Tsambagarav Mountain, the third-highest glacier in Mongolia's National Park. Stay in a specially constructed Kazakh house next to the residence of Shaimurat, the three-time champion of the Golden Eagle Festival. Experience the daily life of Eagle hunter Shaimurat.
Day 6: Take a photo with the eagle. Learn about eagle training techniques. Dress up in Kazakh eagle attire and have your photo taken with an eagle on your arm. Enjoy Bes barmakh, the Kazakh national dish, and participate in a fire festival.
Day 7: Explore the daily life of a Mongolian family. Witness Mongolian archery and try your hand at archery. To see Mongolian family you can ride a horse and have your friend is driven by a jeep. Capture a photo with a sunset-flooded eagle at a natural monument.
Day 8: Visit Kazakh family to experience Kazakh national games such as "Kyz khuar" or "girl chasing" and "Tenge ilu," the coin-grabbing game. Ride a horse while your friend is driven by a jeep.
Day 9: Visit the 5-meter waterfall in the middle of Tsambagarav Mountain, the third-highest glacier in Mongolia's National Park. Ride a horse while your friend drives a jeep.
Day 10: Return to Ulgii from Tsambagarav Mountain, the third-highest glacier in Mongolia's National Park. Stay in a hotel or Kazakh ger camp.
Day 11: Departure from Ulgii to Ulaanbaatar. Explore the city of Ulaanbaatar. Stay in a hotel.
